Early Activities
1. Visits and Lectures at Universities in Mainland China
From 2001 to 2004, President Rev. Grant Chen visited universities in mainland China for lectures and academic exchange.
During those years, he gave lectures at Peking University, Beijing Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing Normal University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University, and Sichuan University. He also spoke at a student society at China Agricultural University and visited Tsinghua University, Shaanxi Normal University, Minzu University of China, and other institutions.
2. Establishing the Christian Studies Scholarship
Beginning in 2005, Blessings established the Christian Studies Scholarship for universities in mainland China to support doctoral and master’s students engaged in the study of Christianity. More than ten students received support each year.
After 2008, this program was administered by the Center for the Study of Christianity and China.
3. Co-hosting Academic Conferences
In 2007, Blessings co-hosted an academic conference with Hong Kong Baptist University on “Dialogue between Confucianism and Christianity in the Contemporary Context: Thought and Practice.” Scholars from various regions were invited to participate, and President Rev. Grant Chen spoke at the conference.
