Cultural Mission

Carrying out ministries by combining both cultural mandate and evangelistic mandate given by God.

The spiritual warfare in the 21st century is a battle between different worldviews. Therefore, constructing a biblical worldview in the Chinese context should be deemed supremely important.

We regard the cultivation of talents as our basic ministry. Blessings Seminarian Scholarship has been established since 1996. We support seminarians who have qualities and capabilities in academia, mass media, and church leadership. Most graduates have devoted themselves to various cultural areas. Among them 20 have obtained PhD degrees from prestigious universities. They work diligently in the soil of Chinese culture so as to transform its embedded worldview.

The whole world is experiencing rapid changes. Through Blessings magazine we discuss all kinds of subjects, including traditional thoughts and modern trends, such as scientism, secularism, and postmodernism, etc. We face the challenge of social media seriously and try to apply it in our ministries. We endeavor to engage in dialogue with people with other faiths by promoting public theology, helping Christians exert influence on current and controversial issues.

About Blessings

In 1994, as many overseas Chinese intellectuals were earnestly exploring the Christian faith, Mark Yu, then a deacon at Bread of Life Christian Church in Los Angeles, proposed establishing a foundation to advance gospel ministry. Pastor Grant Chen, Pastor Edwin Su, Jason Lok, and James Liao then formed the founding board of the Blessings Foundation. They shared the conviction that, in order to spread the gospel effectively, transforming the cultural soil of Chinese communities was fundamental; therefore, they incorporated this vision into the foundation’s mission statement.
